Burgundy & The Morvan Area

The Chateau and Campsite lie next to St.Agnan lake in the Morvan National Park, Burgundy.
We would like to invite you to come and experience a holiday for those of you who like to get away from it all. The Chateau and campsite provide a beautiful and well equipped base for exploring all that Burgundy has to offer, including forests, hills and lakes, historic sites and mediaeval towns, vineyards and gourmet dining.

Based at the heart of the Morvan National Park, our position is tranquil, but not remote. By road we are 345 miles from Calais, 155 miles from Lyon, and 160 from Paris. By plane the simplest way is to fly to Paris and then take the train(TGV) to Montbard, or Avallon; both being approx 30 minutes fom St Agnan.

The Morvan park is somewhat like the English lake district; within a half hour to one hour drive there are seven large lakes, St Agnan covering 130Ha. The area has been a favourite of Parisiennes for over a hundred years because of its clean air, beautiful walks, abundant fishing and ease of access. More recently the region has started to be discovered by the Dutch and English, many of whom come to visit the fabulous wine regions to the north, and east ie:- Chablis and Beaune/Dijon.

The region is criss crossed by many hundreds of miles of footpaths and tracks which make it ideal for walkers, ramblers and mountain bikers. The region is not just trees, hills and lakes; some of the most beautiful architecture in France can be found nearby, from the Roman town of Autun to the medieval city of Beaune, there are places to see in abundance.
