The Morvan National Park in burgundy is renowned for its wonderful lakes and forests. A massive area of natural beauty cushioned by the Burgundian vineyards of Chablis, Irancy, Aligote and the famouse white wine growers to the north and Beauine, Gevrey Chambertin and the incredible red wines of Burgundy to the south of the park. The Morvan is a natural but working environment with all the lakes being used for water supplies and the forests used on a continuous rotation for timber throughout Europe, also being the largest supplier of Christmas trees throughout Europe.
The most beutiful lake, Saint Agnan, lies to the north of the park and measures 140 ha, supplying water to 28 local communes. St.Agnan is one of the most popular lakes for natural water activities. The lake is stocked with 10 species of fish and attracts fishermen from all over Europe. The shores of the lake are very beautiful and undeveloped, shaded with pine trees, green banks and sandy beaches giving everyone their own space for swimming, canoeing, fishing and sailing and wind surfing. Electric engines are allowed but larger crafts and jet skiers use the lake of Setton just 15 minutes away. It is a perfect place for photographers and artists alike with its distinctive light and charming atmosphere, rippling waters and undulating views.
